The Last First Friday

The Downtown Perrysburg last First Friday of the summer was in September. I took the boys while Adam worked on the bathroom remodel. We barely got five steps before Ben found friends from school. He and his friend were inseparable the rest of the night! They were bouncing (literally) from activity to activity. The smart boys asked for flowers from the balloon artist. Flowers? Seems a bit strange, huh? Well, flowers have long stems. Turn them around, they they are swords... Nick had fun, too, hanging out with Avery a bit. There was a school bus there and he really enjoyed messing around on it. At the end of the night we got face/hand painting. Nick's rubbed off a bit, and it was complete melt down!

The 577 Discovery

There is a place in Perrysburg that I have heard of, but for some reason have never made it over there. It is called the 577 Foundation. It is on the river and is a historic house with huge gardens and a path down to the river. The Friday after Labor Day (the 97° day), Nick and I went to check it out after taking Ben to school. Ben has a field trip to the 577 Foundation in a few weeks - it is only a block and a half from his school, so the kids can walk!

Well, this place is AWESOME! They have tons of stuff going on! There are community classes, a book exchange library, a fossil dig area, compost area, bees/honey, and lots and lots of gardens, including a children's interactive garden. Nick and I found the interactive garden - it has musical instruments, a small pond/stream, a little fairy garden, a hobbit hovel, tiny tables for kids - it's awesome! Nick didn't want to leave! Unfortunately, I forgot the bug spray and to say the mosquitoes were horrendous would be a major understatement. So we only stayed for about an hour. I'm really excited to check it out more as the season changes (and the mosquitoes die off).

Slip N Slide End Of Summer Fun!

I picked up a slip n slide on clearance at Target. I broke it out for the boys on Labor Day. It was a good end of summer thing to do! Although it was 97° that week, it hasn't gotten above 65° since. Ben was starting to get pretty good at the slip n slide. He still needs to work on sliding on his belly. Nick just slipped and fell and laughed all over the place. Oh, and then they literally rolled around in the sandbox...

Sharon's Memory Book

I made a memory book for Sharon as a gift on our last day. It is a very brief recap of the past 5 years. I had a very nice leather bound book made and it came out really nice.

The End of an Era

Tuesday August 19 was our last day at Sharon's. We have spent almost five and a half years seeing her every day. To say Sharon was a little sad is an understatement. We were all sad. I made Sharon and Pinky take pictures with the boys when we picked them up. We were blessed to have Sharon be a part of our lives!

Oop, maybe we can get some smiles!
