A Friday Night in the 'Sac

Time For An Upgrade!

Poor Nick and his garage sale Cars bike...His bike failed him and the chain would not stay on, so we decided to upgrade him to a bigger bike. After some persuasion and discussion, he decided on the turtle green bike (16"). It's a little bit big, but he can definitely ride it, he just needs to learn how to stop, put his foot down and lean versus dumping it, every time he stops. He's getting better with practice, though. He can definitely go fast on this thing, though!

Buzz Buzz Goes the Hair Trimmers

Summer time, means some summer hair cuts! Ben can't live with all that 'winter' hair on his head in the summer, he would die of overheating. So buzz buzz buzz! When I was done it looked like I had sheared a sheep! I cleaned Nick up a bit too, but left his long on top (to cover the scars). 

A Pretty Cool Fly By

While sitting out in the driveway one evening, we got a pretty fly by! 

On Our Way to First Grade

We survived! Ben is on his way to first grade! His teacher gave the kids this super cute book, and the main character's name is Ben! Kindergarten was a big year for Ben, but we all survived it (which was questionable at times). Ben received a fantastic report card for the last quarter. It was really interesting to see how he improved and matured as the school year went on. We are very proud of him! 

Kindergarten Carnival

On Ben's last day of Kindergarten, the school had a carnival for the kids. It is a yearly tradition and it was the perfect day for it. Ben's class went first, so they got to see/do everything in it's prime (particularly the glitter tattoos). They had carnival games, a bounce house, balloon animals, glitter tattoos and prizes! I hung out with Ben's class and then volunteered with games and glitter tattoos (UGH! Never again!) for the rest of the K-4 classes. It was fun and a great way to end a great school year! 

Another Tuesday, Another Storm

In what was a bit of a deja vu, we had another bad storm, on a Tuesday evening. This time it happened right at 6, as we were making dinner and was pretty much over by the time we realized what was happening. But we had a bad wind burst that sent branches from the willow tree in the back yard to the front porch and took down the neighbor's largest tree. Luckily there was no structural damage to our neighbors or us. More storms rolled through the rest of the week, but for once, they targeted Sylvania and not Perrysburg!

Fishing Time

How better to spend Memorial Day weekend, then with a little fishing? The boys took Dzaidzau fishing at the Norwalk reservoir. The boys both caught a fish, but I think they both had more fun with the worms. To top off the morning, we also got to see a water snake! Luckily, no one caught him with a hook. 

One Last Spring Soccer Game

It was a fun spring soccer season! Ben had a lot of fun and enjoyed his team. He was pretty excited about his soccer metal :)
