Beach Vacation '12 - Professional Pictures, Part 1

Here is the second to last post from our vacation. Thursday, after spending most of the day on the boat, we cleaned up and headed across the pass to the state park for a little photo session. The reason for the photo session was a present for my parents' 'Centennial', as Sarah and I like to call it (it's a math thing - see if you can figure it out). Our photographer was Andrea McDaniel and she is located in Orange Beach. I found her by doing an internet search and really liked her work. She did a great job and managed to get some great shots even though we had some very uncooperative young men (read: Ben was terrible). Here is the first set. I am still going through the rest of the pictures and want to do some post processing, so the second half will be coming soon!

Some Pictures at Sidecut Park

Wednesday we headed over to Sidecut park to scope out some photo op locations for an upcoming photo session I am doing. The boys kind of wandered around while I looked for good spots for pictures and figured out camera settings, but I got a few of Nick. And some very pretty butterflies.

Catching Fireflies

Another adventure in catching fireflies.

T-Ball Day 4

This week was Ben's 4th T-Ball game. After being cancelled last week for heat, I didn't know how he would do, but he did pretty good. About the same as last time. Adam wasn't able to make it, so it was just me and the boys. Nick sat in his stroller while I had to stay by Ben during batting and walking the bases. But once the kids swapped, and Ben was out-fielding, he didn't need me on the field anymore. He did good at catching the ball and throwing it to his team mates. At the end of the game, the kids all ran the bases twice. Ben led the first round but then hung back and was one of the last to finish the second round.

Yum, Yum, So Tasty!

Nick LOVES these Plum baby food pouches. They are a blend of fruits and veggies and he can eat them without assistance (for the most part). He sucks them down in about 2 minutes and always eats at least 2 in one sitting. I was buying them at Kroger one day and another mom was also picking some up. She was buying them for her 12 year old son who also loves them, so they are not just for babies!

Eva's Baptism Party

After the baptism, we headed to the house for a little party.

Eva hanging out in her swing, waiting for her lunch.
The beautiful cake that Andrea made and Lee made the cross, ribbon, flowers and butterflies.
Checking out the party scene in the backyard

Eva and her cake. Unfortunately, she was more interested in sleeping than sitting next to a cake...

Baptism Family Pictures

A few family pictures from Eva's baptism.

Mama and her baby :)

The Lewalk Family (Jim, Tina, Kevin's grandmother, Kevin, Andrea, Dave (Kevin's brother) and Christy, Kevin's sister-in-law)

Adam and I are Eva' Godparents
The whole group, sans Ben, who had better things to do.

And I am so annoyed with myself because I did not get a picture of the entire Wolny family! But not to worry, we'll get one next time we are all together!! (take that as fair warning Wolny's)

Eva Christina's Baptism

This Sunday was our niece Eva' baptism. The baptism was after the 11:30 mass, so we headed over to Cleveland early Sunday morning so we could go to church then celebrate her baptism.

Eva with Grandma Lee
She wore the same baptismal gown as Andrea wore just like Ben wore Adam's outfit

The deacon performing the baptism was great. He gave lots of great photo ops and really encouraged the kids to participate. Well, Ben saw everyone else taking pictures and he wanted in on the action. I didn't bring his camera, but he does know how to take pictures with my iPod, so I let him have that. After taking one or two pictures, the fun was over and he just wanted to play with the iPod. So he sat himself on the steps to the alter and started playing a game. Adam and I were just waiting for him to start blaring 'All the Single Ladies' or some other inappropriate song in the middle of the baptism. But luckily, that did not happen!
After the first part of the baptism, we moved to the back of the church where the Baptismal font is located. The deacon asked all the kids to touch the water and say a prayer with him. Ben liked that part.

Then it was Eva's turn to get wet. She didn't make a peep!

And then she got her Chrisim oil and smelled like Christmas
The ladies group at the church knits and personalizes a blanket for the babies being baptized. I thought that was really special.
