Feeding the Ducks

While the girls went to the museum to see the Disney animation art exhibit, the boys went to feed the ducks at City Park. Ben fed the ducks, swans, and seagulls. I am told these ducks are professionals when it comes to eating bread from kids. They come right up, gently take their bread, and don't bite. Ben was fascinated with all the birds.

Those are some Big Fish!

I don't have my computer with me, so I can't rotate the vidoes, but this is still pretty cute. Check out how big the cat fish is compared to Ben! It really could eat him whole!

All the Pretty Sharks

The Aquarium

We headed over to the Aquarium today to see the fishes. Ben was very excited about the big fish and sharks and sting rays. It was fun watching him watch the fish and try to grab them and touch them through the glass. Maybe now he will have a little more respect for his fish at home, Ichabod. I should also mention there were lots and lots of Ohioans at the aquarium today - people in town for the Sugar Bowl (Cinci vs FL).

A New Orleans Christmas

After celebrating Christmas in Ohio, we headed down to New Orleans for Christmas with Grandma, Grandpa and Aunt Sarah. Again, Santa must have thought Ben was a very good boy because he got a lot of presents!

Ben got a new bike helmet to go with Mommy's new bike trailer/jogging stroller! As soon as the weather in Toledo warms up, Ben and I will be hitting the new bike trails in Perrysburg

Choo Choo Train

Great Aunt Gwen got Ben a choo choo train for Christmas. It was used more as a 'bang bang' train instead

Jingle Bells

Grandma Lee had these super fun jingle bell trees. Ben was much more facinated with the jingle bell trees than the real Christmas tree, which was fine with me!

Merry Christmas!

Ben had a good first Christmas! Apparently Santa must have thought Ben was a good boy because he got a lot of presents!

Ben was a present himself!

Ahhh, a soccer ball!

A tool bench!

A super big doggy (I don't know where that is going to fit in the house!)

Ohh, pretty tree

Jingle bells, jingle bells

Walking

I don't know how I feel about this walking. I only forsee trouble, headaches, the words No! Stop! and timeouts in the future.

Yummy Pancakes!

Little piggy was scarfing down the pancakes yesterday. He ate 4 pancakes, and banana and a bottle for breakfast. And then ate a sizable lunch 3 hours later. I guess walking requires a lot of calories.

So Excited!

Ben gets so excited about Monster now. I am trying to catch him playing hide and seek with her in the curtains, but neither of them were cooperating.

So Ridiculous

Ben and I took Monster for a walk today because it was *warm* (45 degrees). So I bundled Ben up, put the canopy on the back pack to shield him from the wind, and tried to keep him toasty warm. And what does he do? Busts his head through the side of the canopy and hangs his head out like a dog hanging its head out the car window. He stayed that way for the entire 3 mile walk. Ahhh, so ridiculous. The side of him that was inside the canopy was nice and warm, while the arm dangling out the side was obviously, much colder. You'd think he'd learn...

Spoon

I thought I'd see if Ben could master a spoon last night with his mashed potatoes and bananas, and low and behold! He could do it! I had to put the food on the spoon for him, but he picked it up and put it in his mouth and ate off of it. Today he used a fork with his corn casserole. He even seems to prefer the spoon and fork to using his hands. We'll see if that keeps up...
