The second to last t-ball game, we played against Austin's team. The boys had fun playing. Austin's facial expressions while batting are priceless!

A Quick Backyard Photo or Two
I wanted an up to date picture of the boys together for a memory book I was making for our last day at Sharon's so I asked the boys for a quick picture in the backyard. They cooperated to the best of their abilities...
Would You Like A Kale Shake - I Mean A Glass of Water?
The aquapocalyspe of 2014, Toledo Ohio. I seriously thought it was some kind of FB joke when I woke up Saturday August 2 to news that the water was toxic and don't touch it! Ben had woken us up at 6am, and for once, thank goodness he did! After some fact verification and mild cursing, I pushed Adam out the door to get water, since we had none in the house. He got some of the last cases of water in Bowling Green at 6:30 in the morning. (BG was not affected and P'burg was already sold out by then). It was some good times. Tiffany and I still did our 5k, but did not drink any of the water that was not directly from a capped bottle. We were a little nervous about showering after the race, but luckily by the time we got home, they had said it was safe for adults to shower (which was a good thing for everyone involved!) This picture is from the Toledo Blade, taken in front of the Toledo water intake in Lake Erie. That kale protein shake looking stuff in the glass is 'water' from the lake. It's more like a little bit of water with your algae.
Mommy's First 5K!
August 2nd, my neighbor Tiffany and I ran a 5K! It was the first time I have ever ran a 5K. I randomly decided to do it this summer when my zumba instructor went on maternity leave and I knew I needed a good filler while she was out. And I talked Tiffany into doing it with me! We did a couch to 5K program that required us to run 3 times a week. We had a few weeks that were a little rough, but we made it all the way through the 9 week training schedule and ran the entire 5K! We may not have broken any land records, but we still ran/jogged the entire 3.1 miles. We are thinking of doing another one or two this fall!
Pre run
Post run - yay! We both survived!
Perrysburg First Friday
Perrysburg has a festival downtown on the first Friday of each month (except July) during the summer. We finally made it to one in August. We met up with Austin and Lexi for dinner during which time it POURED rain. Torrential. It was the most (and maybe only) rain we had gotten in a month. I think this happened last time we tried to go to a First Friday. Luckily though, the rain had basically stopped by the time we were done with dinner and they were starting to open stuff back up. They had a mini petting zoo and Bass Pro Shop had some fun games for the kids. Unfortunately, Austin got sick, so they had to leave but the boys and I had fun walking around, got ice cream and enjoyed the evening while Adam worked on the bathroom.

First Day of Kindergarten and Preschool!
(ignore the fact that I am at least 15 posts behind because we are cutting in to post a happening now thing)
Today was the first day of kindergarten for Ben and preschool for Nick! Ben was super excited. He helped pack his lunch and set out his clothes the night before. There were not arguments this morning about getting ready. It was great! Nick was not so enthusiastic. He was excited about preschool but I don't think he really knew what it meant. Ben's drop off at before school care was easy peasy. No problem. Nick, not quite so easy. He got upset when I left and I had to sneak out. It sounds like he pulled himself together for the majority of the day but was upset again when Adam picked him up. He is also fighting a really nasty cold right now, so he's not quite himself.
Ben is getting on the bus at Nick's preschool so I let him get on the bus by himself and met him getting off the bus at St. Rose. His bus was a little late, but he has at least 4 other kindergarten students on his bus. He's the first one picked up and dropped off, so that makes for a long bus ride. He did great, though! He got off the bus, gave me a quick hug and then followed the teacher's instructions. He got settled in his classroom very quickly, working on his coloring project and away I went. He had a good first day and is excited to go back tomorrow! We'll see what he says after his first school mass on Friday! ;o

A Little Couch Bonding
Eva and Nick enjoying a little bonding time while watching Jake and the Neverland Pirates. After all the slip n slide and running around, they needed a little rest time before dinner.
Slip and Slide - On A Hill (and no blood!)
Slip n Slide time in Eva's new (hilly) backyard! And there was no blood! It was a slip n slide miracle! The three of them where pretty funny on it. Nick could not keep his feet under him. He was on his butt the second he stepped onto it! Eva cheated and wore shoes, but she's only 2, so we'll let it slide - this time.
