Fall Family Pictures

Two weeks ago, we headed over to Oak Openings after church to take some family pictures. Let me just say, it took 5 different pictures to get this first one. It didn't go so well. But out of about 50, we got a few decent ones.

Trick or Treating Time!

Due to gale force winds and really nasty weather, Trick or Treating was moved from Thursday to Sunday. Sunday was a much nicer day, but with the time change, all of ToT was in the dark. The boys were pretty excited. However, Ben came down with a raging case of tonsillitis that day. But a dose or two of antibotics, Motrin and a nap, and he was good to go by 6. Adam carved pumpkins at the very last minute. He stayed home and passed out candy this year while I walked the boys. We again ToT with the Secrest family. Ben and Cameryn ran to every house. Nick hung back a little bit and rode in the wagon between houses. We were done by 7:15, but they both had their buckets 3/4 full!

Ben's Soccer

Ben is playing soccer on Saturday mornings at the Y this session. He and Cameryn are on the United team together. Saturday was their first game. And of course, an hour before the game, Ben started up with the 'I don't want to play soccer' and 'I'm too tired to go' after a week of pure excitement about playing. So I wasn't sure how well it was going to go. Once we got to soccer, someone became a third appendage and would not let go of my leg. We all tried to get him to play. At the fourth quarter - his last chance to play- Cameryn finally convinced him to go out and play! High Five for Cameryn! Yay! He did pretty good once he got out there. He and Cameryn held hands a few times on the 'field'. She is such a good friend! I'm hoping that next week he will be more into it. He said he was going to play the whole game next time, so we'll see.

It's like a hive of swarming bees chasing the ball!

A Fall Trip Imagination Station

Friday we headed over to Imagination Station for a play date with Lily and Lucas, whom we had not seen in a while. Ben was very excited to see them. They all had a great time playing in the kid's area, including the grocery store and hospital and water area. Lucas learned quickly to follow the bigger boys' lead and just do what they were doing ;) Ben and Nick had a lot of fun playing in the hospital area this time. They were taking care of babies and taking them to the hospital and changing diapers. They were all in on the pretend play!

A Little Soccer Star In The Making!

Nick had his first soccer practice today. He did great! He listened very well, was very engaged, did well at the drills like little kicks/dribbling, medium kicks, big kicks, ball taps and passing. When it was time to stand next to our cone and listen for the next instruction, he ran to the cone, placed the ball on the line next to the cone and stood behind the ball. Here's to hoping next week is as successful!

Pumpkin Painting

Another year of pumpkin painting! The boys had lots of fun painting their little pumpkins. They kind of lost interest before they got to their big pumpkins.

Cold Weather Doesn't Stop Him!

Cold weather doesn't stop Nick from playing in the sandbox. Monday night, after work/daycare, he went directly outside and did not come in until 7:15, after it had been dark for 45 minutes! But he was just playing away in the sand box, happy as could be!

Cookie Time!

We signed up for Ben to bring in cookies for his school Halloween party this week. I made the dough and Ben was in charge of cutting out the cookies. He had a lot of fun deciding which shapes to use and using the cookie cutters. Nick just kind of observed and gave Ben helpful encouragement.
