Ben and I had a little photo shoot Friday afternoon while Nick took a nap. Ben was very into it because he got to press the remote button. Unfortunately, the focus wasn't fabulous, but oh well, learnings for next time.
We can't forget the animals. They were pretty active yesterday. I have never seen the snow lepord moving around or the lions laying in a place where you can see them. The cheetah was a little freaky - she was looking directly at me like I was dinner.
I'd like to note, this is the spot that Ben decided he had to have a picture. Too bad he forgot to pick his sword back up and left it there. I didn't realize the sword was missing until we had gotten back to Nature's Neighborhood. Luckily, it was right where he had left it when we went back to find it.
When you have every single Fisher Price toy at your disposal? We spent probably 40 minutes playing with all the toys. I use this as a Santa list generator. The boys both loved the Jake and the Neverland pirates toys as well as Batman. It was only the promise of trick-or-treating that lured them away from all the toys.
Our first stop at the zoo was the Fisher Price tent of toys - aka nirvana for a 3 year old. Ben went straight for the cars. We were the first ones there, so Ben had his choice of cars. His first choice was the red mustang. He looked pretty hot tooling around in the snazzy 'stang.
Then he switched to the atv. He had a pretty good time riding that. Yeah, he could mow down like five kids at once with that in our neighborhood.
And Nick stuck to the tried and true - a little Lighting McQueen. It was perfect Nick size,
This year's Halloween costumes are Jake and Cubby from Jake and the Neverland Pirates. Grandma Mary made the vests and boot covers and head wraps and trick-or-treating bags. We went to Little Boo at the Zoo again this year, so the boys were fully decked out this morning. Ben loves his costume. He had to wear it to dinner last week and asks everyday if he can wear his costume.
Their treat bags have gold doubloons on them - Jake and the crew collect gold doubloons for completing Pirate Problems. Ben's vest pocket came with 5 gold doubloons for playing. It was his favorite thing, other than the sword...
Last week we went over to the park on a beautiful night for the boys to run off some energy. Adam and Ben ran the bases while Nick kind of trailed behind, snacking on some goldfish.
We made really long shadows
So we took a shadow family picture (or 2 or 10)
Everyone went down the slide together!
I'm really glad I was taking pictures of a leaf and had no idea what was going on here.
Nick has finally gotten a hair cut! Ben was 7 months old when he got his first hair cut and Nick was 19 months. He did cry a bit, but as long has he had his sucker, he was ok. He did very good and sat for Loretta like a good boy. And now he is so cute and hansom with his hair all nice. I still need to get a better picture of the after. Oh, and I do have to mention, Ben also got his hair cut! He has not gotten it professionally cut since before he was 2. He has screamed and freaked out so bad the last few times we tried, that we just started cutting it at home. But because Nick was going to get his hair cut, Ben thought it was ok to get his cut too. We were very proud of him!
