Ottawa Wildlife Refuge

We took the boys and dog out to Ottawa wildlife refuge on the lake to see what there was to see. The boys had a great time finding wildlife. We even saw a bald eagle! The boys counted all the animals and got all the way up to 100! 

Pool Time

All that berry picking deserved some pool time in the afternoon with ice cream sandwiches and soft pretzels.

Raspberry Picking

And after picking strawberries, we found a place to pick raspberries. The raspberries did not suffer the same fate as strawberries, and it was a huge crop this year! We picked very early in the season, but the bushes were bursting with berries!

The strawberry season was delayed and not so great this year because of ALL THE RAIN, but Nick and I found one day to go out and pick. Nick was all for it! I had to make him stop once we had a flat full. 

Post Baseball Mr Freeze

Lots of baseball calls for lots of ice cream.

When both boys play at the same time on fields next to each other, you sit in the middle and keep turning your head. 

Ben's Homerun

And in between all the rain, we played some baseball. Somehow we avoided many rescheduled games. In this game, Ben got a homerun (due to a bunch of errors)!

I love it when the boys play in the sandbox all weekend, even if they do make a mess of everything.
