After our afternoon beach beverages and a little nap, we headed downtown for church and dinner. We scoped out the church situation and had some time to kill, so we checked out downtown Nassau. Three cruise ships were in port and at least one of them was re-boarding, so it was a bit crazy and there were a lot of drunk people. Pretty much New Orleans on a Saturday night, but surrounded by nicer water and beaches. After (long) church, we went back down to the port for dinner at Lukka Kairi. We ate conch and it was tasty.

Sister's Trip '16: Sarah's Dark and Stormy
Sarah's bucket list included drinking a dark and stormy on the beach in the Bahamas. So, we made that happen. After a long day on the water, we came back to the resort to relax and drink our dark and stormies on the beach. Bucket list --> check!
Sister's Trip '16: Step 3 - Swim ABOVE the Sharks
After Snuba, our boat took us over to the shark arena. The dive company has an area where they dive every afternoon to do a shark feed. The company is very into shark awareness and preservation. Although the sharks weren't going to be feed for another 3 hours, they still hang out in the area a lot. We got to get in the water above the sharks to check them out from the surface. The water was about 40 feet deep and it was hard to tell how far down the sharks were, but I would say they were pretty close to the bottom. After we all got back onto the boat, the captain threw some chum into the water and got the sharks to surface. Sarah and I figured that was the closest we would get to them, and that was ok...
Sister's Trip '16: Step 2: Snuba
After a little ride around the corner of the island, we stopped at our second dive site. This time we got to do the snuba. It was awesome!! The clouds had cleared and the sun was shining (aka better light for pictures), the water was warm and the colors were amazing! It was so awesome. I kind of ignored the dive instructor when she said it was time to surface. I could have stayed down way longer.
Above Sarah is the raft with the air tanks that we were all tethered to. We could go down 20-25 feet below the surface.
crazy hair
Sister's Trip '16: Some Island Shots
Some sights around the island as we went from one dive site to the other...
Some high falutin' fashion designer owns this house/beach. From what the captain said, he doesn't sound like very good neighbor, but they did film the live action Scooby Doo movie here. That won over major points with Ben and Nick.
