Ben's Motivation To Sell Popcorn

Ben's motivation to sell Cub Scout popcorn was a nerf gun prize and throwing a pie at Adam. If the boys sold their quota, they got to throw a pie at their Den leaders face. Adam got 3 pies thrown at him. I have to say, I was pretty excited that Ben did so well at selling popcorn, but watching Adam get pies thrown at him was awesome.

Seven 7 Year Olds - What Was I Thinking?

Ben had a birthday party at the house this year with six other boys. His whole point in this party was to play football with his friends. It wasn't super cold, or super warm outside so I found some nerf guns on super clearance for them to play inside. I can tell you, OSHA would NOT have approved of the noise level. I needed hearing protection. Overall, it went well and I think the boys all had fun. Ben got some cool lego sets, star wars things and a water gun. Notice how they all have Nerf guns in their hands while singing happy birthday...

A Skylander Birthday Cake

Ben really wanted a Skylander cake for his birthday. He doesn't have the Skylander video game or any of the toys, but that's what he wanted. We borrowed some of the toys from a neighbor to decorate the cake.

An Early 7th Birthday

We celebrated Ben's birthday in Milan with a day of making pinewood derby cars, cake and presents. Grandma made an ice cream cake (yum!) and Ben received a cool bottle science experiment kit and a new remote control car. He was pretty excited about both! Another 7 year old present - a missing front tooth! The gaping whole will soon be filled with a ginormous tooth to match the other one.

Safe to say he doesn't hide and cover his ears anymore when you sing happy birthday.

Happy New Years!

We made it back to Perrrysburg just in time for the annual cul de sac NYE party! Candi and the kids made the trip for the party!

I Ate A Bug

Of course, we couldn't leave the insectarium without trying the bug delicacies. Ben had a bug cookie and Nick had cricket fudge.

The Butterflies

The Insectarium has a great butterfly exhibit. I think everyone had a butterfly land on them. There were a lot of pretty butterflies along with some birds, a turtle and coy fish.
