We were late putting up inside decorations this year, and we were only going to enjoy them for a week, so I just let the boys go to town. I brought up the little 4 foot tree, some lights and plastic ornaments and told them to take care of it. It was our little festive corner of the house.

Cookie Making Time
Nick and I made some cut out Christmas cookies. I didn't get any pictures of Nick decorating the cookies, but they were something else...

Cub Scouts at the Art Museum
AKA bulls in a china shop. The tiger scouts went to the art museum to earn one of their belt loops. They started off in the kids art room. Perfectly safe and a good place to hang out. Then it got adventurous - the kids went up to the main floor to see the history of sneakers exhibit. It was a cool exhibit, but wow, having all those kids in the museum was a little stressful. On the security guards! No catastrophes, but there was some sweating!

Lights Before Christmas at the Zoo
Our annual trip to the lights at the zoo. It was a pretty warm evening, but not too crowded.

Star Wars and Advent - Together!
The boys were able to pull themselves together and George brought them a Star Wars lego advent calendar! It was a pretty awesome advent calendar and a good way to count down not only to Christmas, but to seeing the new Star Wars movie. I called dips on the Ewok that came in the calendar.

Welcome Back, George? Or not?
Ugh. George had a rough welcome back party. George came back to our house for the Christmas season the weekend after Thanksgiving. He made a pretty cool message out of pearler beads. Unfortunately, the Be Good part was missed by Ben and Nick. Nick even purposely touched George on the face!! In order for George to regain his magic after being touched, we had to perform a sprinkle ceremony. The boys had to write notes/pictures to George saying they were sorry and then sprinkle spinkles on him to help him get his magic back. It seemed to have worked because George was in a different spot the next morning.

Elaina and the Ruff
Elaina isn't a big fan of dogs, not sure why, it's just her thing. Kind of like Ben was with cats when he was 2. After almost 24 hours in Monster's company, Elaina got up the courage to not only get within 2 feet of the dog, but to also touch her!

Happy Birthday, Lexi!
For Lexi's 8th birthday, I made her a Shopkins birthday cake. Shopkins are little figurines, shaped like food, with faces on them. Don't ask me why or what the big deal is with them, but kids love them. Lexi was pretty excited about her Shopkins cake.
