The First Cub Scouts Belt Loops

Ben got his first Cub Scout belt loops. He got one for reverence (going to church) and for his nature hike. He proudly wears his belt to school every day. And is constantly asking how he can earn more belt loops.

A Cub Scouts Adventure

Ben's cub scouts pack took a nature hike along the Maumee river. The older boys had to do a five mile hike. The 6 year old weren't quite up for that, so they walked about 45 minutes and then turned around. While they hiked, Nick and I took a shorter walk around the canal and then went canoeing! They had free canoeing set up at Providence park that day and Nick wanted to do it, so we did!

And then a random Nick selfie while we waited for Ben to get back.

A Random Sunset

A random pretty sunset as viewed from the Turnpike

Happy Birthday, Janie!

We helped Janie celebrate her first birthday! It was a rock'n purple party! The birthday girl loves her some frosting! (My kind of girl!)

Cross Country - The First Meet

Ben's first official cross country meet was in Bowling Green. It was a beautiful day for a race! He ran his half mile in 4:40 and came in 20th place!

Cross Country - Mini Meet

Ben is running cross country for St Rose this fall. He asked to do CC a while back because his kindergarten teacher told him what a good runner he is. So, although I have nightmares of my own days forced to run 0.5 mile (which I swear had to have been longer than that 25 years ago), I said ok. It's a bit grueling with 3 practices a week, but he's enjoying it and does fairly well. The Thursday before the first official race, there was a mini meet to get the kids familiar with how it all works. Ben didn't really know what to expect, but he still ran his 0.5 mile in 4:20.

Cub Scouts

Ben is a Tiger Cub Scout this year and Adam is the Den leader. Both are super excited about it. Adam has been planning and building totem poles for a few months now. Right now there are six boys in the den.
