The fireworks show was great, as always! Ben had fun watching them while still being social (which was a bit of a issue). I wasn't sure how Nick would do. He has been a little freaked out about planes and thunder lately, so I came prepared with noise cancelling headphones. He was tired, but he did not cry or freak out. He would not look at the fireworks, though. He crawled into my lap and looked the other way the entire show. I tired to turn him around a few times, but he was having none of it. But he didn't cry, so I didn't mind. What's funny is that he got excited about the random back yard fireworks we saw on our ride home.

Exploring the Fort
Before the fireworks, the boys and I took a walk to explore the fort. It was pretty wet and soggy, so we applied another layer of bug spray and headed on our way. The boys had a lot of fun playing on the hill/bunkers and in the tall grass and wild flowers. Once it dries out around here (which may not be until September at this rate), I'd like to take them back for more pictures.
This is the look I am constantly getting now a days, the 'What mom?! I'm just..."
Fun Before the Fireworks!
Wednesday night we headed down the road to Fort Meigs for the Perrysburg fireworks. They have a little carnival set up and there is tons of space for everyone. We rode our bikes down after work and it worked out perfectly. I think we were home before people that drove. We met up with Cameryn and co. along with a few other families. The kids had a good time playing while we waited. And yes, I dressed my children in neon green so I could find them in a crowd and in the dark.

Rainy Evening Photos
Saturday evening we headed back over to Levis, just to get out of the house. They had closed up most of the Sand-tastic things after the almost 2 inches of rain we got in the early evening. Ben wanted to go to the fountain and Nick just wanted to eat his snack. But I was still able to get some cute pictures.
The Cul de Sac does Sand-tastic!
Saturday afternoon we headed over to Levis Commons for their annual Sand-tastic festival. Somehow we have never made it over there for it in the past. We rounded up the cul-de-sac and headed over between storms. The kids had a great time in the water table and giant sandbox (it even made our's look small). They also had diy face painting and mini-gators for the kids to ride.
Little Fishy
Ben has been a little weird about the big pool this summer. Sharon has a pool and he hadn't ventured off the steps yet this summer until last week. Once he finally got in, he was all about it! He has been swimming at Sharon's every day since and on Friday went swimming in the neighbor's pool. He had his goggles, noodle and puddle jumper and was ready to go! He went back and forth between the hot tub and the big pool. Nick was a bit more reserved and just barely got into the hot tub. He wasn't all that interested in swimming.
Whew, What A Storm!
Thursday we had a crazy storm hit! I was driving home from Sharon's with the boys and the dog and we could see a really funky cloud kind of following us home. I got across the river when the cloud caught up with us - and it was a bad cloud! It was actually a micro burst with crazy wind and rain. I barely got down River Rd without a tree hitting us and stopped in the first neighborhood without big trees to wait it out. It only lasted like seven minutes, but there were a lot of branches down. When I got home, I found our willow tree had been torn up. Most of the limbs that got torn up landed inside the tree. Our neighbor had a whole tree come down.
Splashing War
It was an all out splashing water war with Dzaidziu. Ben was chasing him around with buckets of water and then Nick got in on it, too. Poor Eva, she had to learn that as the smallest, she was Nick's prime target.
Nick tried to get Dzaidziu
And Uncle Kevin. But he needs to work on aim.
