Mardi Gras Trees

Since we didn't go to Mardi Gras this year, I made a few trees for decoration. Nothing fancy, but they are still festive! The silver tree is at home and the green tree is at work. We had a Christmas tree decorating contest and work and I morphed my tree into a Mardi Gras tree.

The Ultimate Toy Box

Last weekend Grandma and Dziadziu delivered the ultimate toy box! It's been a few years in the making, but it has reached completion and has been delivered! It's a very nice piece of furniture. The boys love playing on it and have used the pad for many things including a hospital gurney. It is the perfect place to store lots of dump trucks, bulldozers and excavators.

Caged Animals or Something

Right before this the boys were pretend playing something and carrying on some type of half conversation. Ben has really gotten into pretend play lately. I thought he was going to have an imaginary friend last week when he started talking about his flying horse Peeta (this idea came from Sophia the First princess).

My First King Cake

In honor of the Super Bowl in New Orleans this year, I made a King Cake from scratch to take to our cul de sac party. It turned out pretty good. Everything I make is always better the second time I make it (never buy the first model year). I've learned a few things so the next one should be excellent!

Fishing for Nick Fish

I'm not really sure what they were pretending, but I think it either had to do with fishing or boating. Ben rigged his Cpt Hook fishing hook to the laundry basket in order to use it as a rope to pull the basket. He then made Nick get into the basket so he could either pretend he caught a Nick fish or take Nick for a boat ride. Either way, they both had a good time for quite a while. I need to write those Rubbermaid people...The way those two beat on my laundry baskets and so far they have only cracked one and it's still usable.

Nick's Turn

Nick wasn't too into crafts with Ben and Cameryn Friday night, but Saturday morning he wanted to stamp and color.

Valentine's and Mardi Gras Crafts

Last Friday Cameryn came over after dinner to play. I dug out some crafts should they want to do them including a Valentine's crown and a Mardi Gras mask made out of their hand prints. I figured they probably wouldn't be interested but they both surprised me and wanted to do both crafts! I dug out some stickers and stamps and crayons for their crowns. They had a great time decorating them! Then they went off to play, yada yada yada, then came back a bit later to have their hands traced to make Mardi Gras masks. Cameryn decorated her's but Ben was off to play again before he decorated his.

Bad flash photography and then uncooperative 4 year old only allowed for this one picture of them together

But Cameryn was an excellent model!

A Great Way To Nap

After not taking a nap Friday, Ben was passed out on the ottoman by 5:30 Friday night. He did the same thing Sunday after also not taking a nap. Maybe he would get to eat more food if he took a nap when I suggested and not during dinner time...

Efficiency Is Not His Thing

Ben shoveling the snow on Friday. I think it's safe to say that efficiency is not this thing.

Imagination Station Fun

Friday I took the boys over to Imagination Station. It was the last weekend for the Sesame Street Body exhibit and I wanted them to get a chance to see it one more time. We then went and hung out in the little kid space, like normal. We even ran into Lily and Lucas there! The boys had fun playing with everything, like always. It was our first trip with no stroller! We were travel'n light! It was a little bit liberating, not having to walk around with a stroller.

Nick in the water smock was cracking me up!

Nick LOVED the ball floating in the air. His facial expressions were the best. I tried to get a video of it, but that was when he decided to climb up on the table, so that didn't really work out.
