Hair Cut Time!!

The Before.
Hot mess.

Nick has finally gotten a hair cut! Ben was 7 months old when he got his first hair cut and Nick was 19 months. He did cry a bit, but as long has he had his sucker, he was ok. He did very good and sat for Loretta like a good boy. And now he is so cute and hansom with his hair all nice. I still need to get a better picture of the after. Oh, and I do have to mention, Ben also got his hair cut! He has not gotten it professionally cut since before he was 2. He has screamed and freaked out so bad the last few times we tried, that we just started cutting it at home. But because Nick was going to get his hair cut, Ben thought it was ok to get his cut too. We were very proud of him!

Playtime

Friday we went over to Cameryn and Avery's house for a playdate. Andrew and Matthew were also there - one last Friday hurrah before Kristi had to go back to work from maternity leave :( The night before I had been browsing on Pinterest while Ben was sitting next to me. He happened to see a pin of leave rubbing and told me he wanted to do that. So we decided we would do it at Cameryn's house with the other kids. So on our walk over we collected leaves for our art work. Well, by the time we went to do the leaf rubbing, Ben wasn't as interested anymore. He just wanted to color a picture with Cameryn's colored pencils, which was fine. The kids colored while we got lunch ready. Then they played some more. The boys had fun playing with the doll house.

Another Rainbow

I have a bunch of prisms hanging in the windows of the kitchen. The sun angle around 4pm is perfect right now for creating rainbows on the kitchen and living room floors. Here is one such rainbow last week. (there is no editing to this photo)

Cooking with Mommy

Nick helping me cook white chicken chili the other night. We ended up having the neighbors over for dinner while the guys were bowling.

Pictures with Mommy

I've decided to make more of an effort to be in pictures. Nick and I had some fun taking pictures on the couch while Ben played outside.

Monsters, Apples and School Buses

Tractor Time

Erie Orchard has a whole set up of tractors for the kids to play on. In addition to two real tractors, they also have peddle tractors. Once all the field trip kids cleared out, the boys had the tractors all to themselves. And they took full advantage. Nick was climbing up on the big tractors all by himself because he's an awesome monkey like that.

A Trip To Erie Orchard

I took Thursday off this week, so the boys and I headed up to Erie Orchard to get some Northern Spy apples. They are the only place around that carries them and Aunt Sarah will boycott Thanksgiving if there is no Northern Spy apple pie.
The orchard has lots of stuff for kids including play equipment, pumpkins, goats and chickens. I wasn't thinking and we got there right at 10...the exact same time as the 4 buses of kids there for field trips! It was a little crazy for about 15 minutes, but then all the kids took hay rides and we had the whole place to ourselves. While we waited for the field trippers to board their hay rides, we enjoyed our doughnuts in the wooden fire truck.

Eating Big Boy Style

Nick enjoying this waffles with Nutella, sitting in a big chair, all by himself. He now prefers to sit in big chairs without his high chair. He also now eats at the table, no longer using his high chair tray :(

Fall Colors Around the Neighborhood

We took a walk Tuesday night to see the pretty colors in the neighborhood. The 'little' decorative trees are really pretty right now. I'm glad we went Tuesday because we got a lot of wind yesterday that knocked a lot of the leaves off the trees.
