Mud

The boys played outside with Aunt Sarah this afternoon. Of course the boys found the mud...

Something to do with the Sun and Venus

or something like that. When I got home today, Adam had the telescope out, looking at the sun reflection in a notebook. He was looking at Venus or something, tracking in front of the sun. And it just so happened that as I was taking a picture of the itty bitty little dot on the corner of the sun (the bright white circle with the tiny dot @ 11 o'clock), a plane flew overhead and I just barely got it in the shot. It was like a 1 in a million shot. Adam actually sent the picture to a blog he follows, Bad Astronomy, and the blogger is going to post it on his blog (which is why there is a watermark on the picture).  Here is the link to the website. Our picture is the 5th one in the slide show.

Fish Feeding with Aunt Sarah

Sunday brought with it visitors - Aunt Sarah and Donnie! Donnie had to continue on his way to Detroit for work, but Aunt Sarah stayed with us for a few days. Sunday night we walked over to feed the fish. Ben had on his mis-match jammies and his fire boots. It's a fashion statement.
Monster has to get tried to the tree. She actually did hurt my arm pulling me to get into the pond and get the fish
I think this was one of the carp. The carp are probably 12 to 18 inches long. The cat fish are even bigger.

A Win - Win

Yesterday I picked up a new car seat for Nick to go in the truck (Ben's will be here Friday). While I was assembling and installing the seat in the truck, I let the boys play with the box. We all know how much kids love boxes...I see this as a win-win. New car seat (read: Adam will now be picking the boys up from daycare, meaning I get home earlier), and the boys had something to keep them occupied for 20 minutes. Everybody wins!

Slides, Swings and Steering Wheels

Fishing with Daddy

Sunday morning Ben and daddy went fishing (really, it was just an excuse for daddy to take his truck for a drive). Ben caught a few fish, but mostly he just played in the mud and water.

Truck Time!

He Screams (Literally) for Ice Cream

We took the boys for ice cream on Saturday in Daddy's new truck (had to make sure the car seats fit and the boys were comfortable for all those future trips in the truck). Nick has been having an issue with screeching at the top of his lungs lately, which he did repeatedly between bites of ice cream.

Ben got a blue slushy, resulting in a blue tongue

The Truck

Daddy's new truck. Ben is very excited about it, as is Adam. Now all it needs are some car seats so Adam can start picking the boys up from daycare! You should ask him about this next time you talk to him.

Swamp Feet

Ben has a fail-proof recipe for mud. Take the hose that is supposed to be water the garden, and move it to the dirt that was the old wood pile. Apply water directly for several minutes - remove only when mommy catches you. Then stomp, stomp, stomp through the now muddy area until your feet are covered in an inch or so of mud. Next, stomp, stomp, stomp your way over to the pool to 'wash off' your swamp feet. Then make mommy clean out the pool with a layer of mud and sand at the bottom.

Dirt, Sweat and Tears

I'm not sure why Nick was upset - maybe I told him no or Ben poured cold water down his back. In any case, more priceless 'Nick faces'. That kid can pump out tears like a fire hydrant. And then they pool up on his big cheeks and stay there until I wipe them off.
