Nick decided he wanted to play soccer this spring for St Rose. So far almost all the practices have been cancled for weather, but they got one (cold) game in to date. Nick had a lot of fun and definitely followed the ball around the field! There are some fundamentals to build on.

One Fun Outing for Spring Break
I took the kids on one fun outing for spring break (sad, I know, but they have beautifully painted bedrooms instead). We went to the zoo with Austin and Lexi. We hadn't been to the zoo in a long time. Lots of fun was had!

Spring Break Sun and Sand
This was the extent of the sun and sand the boys had on spring break. It was a pretty crummy weather week for spring break, and I spent all of painting their rooms.

A Birthday Walk In the Woods
It was a beautiful Sunday afternoon for my birthday, so we headed out to Oak Openings for a nice walk in the woods. The boys had fun checking out what little nature was around in mid March and we all enjoyed the fresh air!

Tiger Scouts Night At the Museum
The Tiger scouts did a night at the art museum for their March den meeting. They played in the kid center for a while, made some art and then checked out the Ancient Egypt exhibit. Nick loves going to the art center at the museum. He dug right in and did a few different art pieces.

Bonnet Carre Spillway
The Mississippi was a little on the high side by mid March. They opened the Bonnet Carre spillway to help ease the flooding so we took a little drive down to see it. It was pretty cool. There were a bunch of guys pulling fish out by the bucket loads!

3rd Grade Culture Project
In 3rd grade, the kids do a culture project. They select a culture in their heritage and do a research project on the country and culture. Ben picked Poland. As part of the project, they had to make a food. He and Adam went on a field trip with Dzaidzui to all the Polish markets in Hamtramik to buy their ingredients for hunter's stew, beigos. Then they spent all day Sunday making it. Ben did a very good job on his project, and really enjoyed learning about Poland!
