The Detroit Car Show

Proud mom moment - the boy's first car show! Ben was super excited to see the Corvette, so we started there. But then he wouldn't sit in it. Nick, on the other hand, wasn't very interested and didn't really want to go. Well, as it would turn out, Nick took 100s of pictures and sat in every single car that was unlocked, while Ben took no pictures, and was on the hunt to see as many cars as possible. Overall, it was really good. But the car show is nothing like it used to be, before 2008.

Bear's Pinewood Derby

In his 3rd year of racing, Ben designed his car to be a Corvette (it was a theme in January). He was excited to win 3rd place (I can't remember if it was speed or design...). Overall, it was a successful pinewood derby this year!

Tiger's Pinewood Derby

This was the year that Nick was finally a cub scout and could do the pinewood derby as a scout! They spent a day over winter break working on their cars with Grandma and Dzaidzui, and they turned out pretty awesome. Mom fail - I forgot to get pictures of them with their cars. Nick was a little sad that he didn't win, but he still had a lot of fun!

3D Pen Skills

The boys got 3D pens for Christmas. I had ordered more filaments, which included gold. Ben immediately got to work on making his own set of Saints players, including #9, Drew Brees. I have to say, he did a pretty good job!

A Little Birthday Celebration

Because I wasn't feeling great, we stayed home and had a little Tricia Ct bday party for Ben. He got 8 laser tag guns - enough so all the kids on the court can play. They of course, played in the basement for a few hours, but someday soon, they will get to play with them outside!

Ben is really into Corvette's right now, so I made him a Corvette cake. Nothing too fancy because, honestly, just making the cake was hard enough because I was still getting over the stomach bug. But it was tasty!
