School Christmas Parties

I am the room mom for Ben's class this year and was in charge of games for the Christmas party. I found lots of ideas, that's to pinterest, including a classmate Christmas tree game. I bought some green streamers and found some Christmas stickers in the basement and let the kids go to town. They LOVED it! They were pretty funny. Luckily Ben's teacher is really laid back and didn't mind the huge mess it made when they 'undecorated' their classmate trees!

I stopped in Nick's classroom to say hi. He had lots of fun, too. Their games included making a classroom snow man (popular idea this year), Mrs Claus Says (which included yoga!) and a santa hat strawberry treat!

Saint Rose Christmas Program

It was Nick's first year of the Christmas program and Ben's third. They both did a good job. Though their outfits seriously start to suffer post recess.

A Snow Day - Complete with Snow!

The snow fall continued into Monday and Perrysburg was big wusses and canceled school. I stayed home from work with the kids. I worked from the living room while they played on their sledding mound, courtesy of John.

First Snow Fall of the Season

We got a pretty decent snow fall in mid December. I think the grand total was about 5" in Perrysburg. It was a little snow blowing party in the circle on Sunday afternoon.

Cookie Time!

It wouldn't be Christmas without decorating cookies! We invited Lexi and Austin over to decorate cookies with us. We let them each decorate 4 and eat them. Their quality assurance didn't quite make the cut for public consumption.

The Return of George the Elf

True to tradition, George the Elf came back to spend the month of December with us. He didn't get up to any crazy hyjinx this year. He did bring a Lego advent calendar and some ginger bread house, though.

Thanksgiving with Cousins

It was a Wolny cousin pile up on Adam! But that yummy Thanksgiving dinner was sitting nice after that one.

Thanksgiving Break Fun

During Thanksgiving break, we went to Sky Zone with Cameryn and Avery. While there we saw Brock and Brooklyn, two friends from Sharon's house. It was a mini Sharon's reunion!

We also went to see Magic Beasts and Where to Find Them. The boys really liked the movie. And Nick really likes movie popcorn.

2nd Grade Thanksgiving Show

For Thanksgiving, Ben's class did a 'play' of Turk and Runt, a story about a Thanksgiving turkey saved from being dinner. Ben played the part of 'Coach' and had a line or two. Then they each read their 'I am not a turkey because' stories. Ben's turkey could not possibly be a turkey because he was a world series winning cubs player. (Note Ben's wardrobe choice for the day...)

Neighborhood Leaf Crew

Ben and the neighborhood boys got to business on our leaves after school one day. They actually did a really good job. We paid them with pizza and root beer.

How Many Extra Teeth Can 1 Person have?

In the case of Nick, three, maybe four. Nick's top two front teeth were really loose, but wouldn't come out. The adult teeth started coming in a pushing the baby teeth behind each other. He had the most messed up looking mouth for about a month. FINALLY on Thanksgiving, he got one of them out, followed by the other a few days later. But he still has that bonus baby tooth hanging out, getting in the way of his adult front tooth. Any donations towards Nick's orthodontics fund, would be greatly appreciated.

Imagination Station

The boys had a day off in the beginning of November. After a lot of grumbling from Ben, I got them to both go to Imagination Station. Nick always wants to go there, but Ben likes to be difficult. Funny, though, once we get there, Ben is always the one I have to drag out. There was no one there that day because eveyone else was in school. We caught the science theater show and both boys got to participate. It was pretty funny. They spent most of their time in the tinker lab playing with the pressurized air cars. They also had fun playing on some of the food and exercise displays.
