Saturday morning, we woke up early and got ready to catch our bus to Stuart Cove's Dive Bahamas. Sarah's friends had worked with Stuart on some film projects in the past, and highly recommended it, so we wanted to give it a try. We were going to be doing the Snuba - a dumbed down scuba where an air tank is floating on the surface in a raft and 6 people are tethered to it with air supply hoses. We weren't quite sure why, but our first stop on the boat we snorkeled instead of snuba-ed, but that was ok. Our first dive location included underwater statues, artificial reefs and a sunken plane. The plane was used in Jaws 4. The coral and fish were much more colorful than the pictures show. I didn't realize I should have gotten a red filter for shooting underwater. Oh well, guess I'll just have to do it again so I can get better pictures...

Sister's Trip '16: Dolphin Cay
Friday was Dolphin day and Atlantis. The day started off with a lovely site-seeing tour of downtown Nassau, as we tried to get around the national labor day parade. We saw things that I don't think tourists are supposed to see. But, we had given ourselves plenty of time, so we just sat back and tried to enjoy the extra special ride.
Once we got to Atlantis, we had to find the Dolphin Cay. We walked around a few of the hotels and tried to get a lay of the land. That place is huge and very confusing. And very crowded. After Sarah made friends with a very friendly and enthusiastic bell hop, we found the right bus to take us to Dolphin Cay. We had a small group of six people, so we got lots of time with the dolphins. So cute!

Sister's Trip '16: Beach Fish
We had to practice up on our underwater photography, so we practiced on the resort beach fish. I have no idea what kind of fish these were, but there were a lot of them. We also so some kind of needle fish.
Sister's Trip '16: Sea Kayaking
Our first full day, Thursday, we decided to be a beach day. We spent the whole day in our shady cabana, reading and sipping our drinks. The resort has kayaks, so we took a little adventure mid-day. We actually did fairly well. We didn't even have to get rescued. Although the sky looks ominous, it never rained on us.

Sister's Trip '16: Welcome To The Bahamas!
Sarah and I took a sisters trip this year - to The Bahamas! Sarah wanted to cross a few things off her bucket list, which included The Bahamas, and I just wanted a beach vacation, so it was a win-win. After some storm-induced debacle at the airport, we got our vacation started! We stayed at Breezes Resort on Cable Beach. It was a nice resort - not the glitziest, but not bad, either. It suited our needs well. The food was good.
The view from our room.
We could see all the cruise ships coming and going.
Next door to Breezes is the GIGANTIC resort, Baha Mar. It's 95% completed and foreclosed. It has never been open, but they turn a lot of lights on in the eight high rise building every night. It's a little creepy, and a lot sad, that this huge complex is sitting empty. But, it meant more beach to ourselves at Breezes.
