Gymnastics Mayhem!

Nick had been talking for months and months about having his 5th birthday party at the YMCA gymnastics center. Every single time we drove by it (which was almost daily since it's down the street) all he would talk about was his upcoming birthday party. And he got his wish. The kids had a BLAST playing for an hour on the gymnastics floor. It was pure pandemonium.

BB-8 Cookie Pops

Are you seeing a theme here? I made BB-8 cookie pops for Nick to take to school for his birthday treat. The bottom is a double stuff Oreo and the top were mini nilla waffers, dipped in white chocolate. They were the hit of the Pre-K B crowd!

The Big F-I-V-E

And we officially have a five year old! Nick was so happy to finally be 5. It was all he had been talking about for, I swear, months.

Who Doesn't Love BB-8??

The weekend before Nick's birthday, we went to the mall (I can't really remember why). We walked past the Disney store (which I usually try to avoid) and they had tons of Star Wars stuff on the front table display. Nick immediately saw a BB-8 suitcase and wanted it. So, we decided he could get a BB-8 suitcase for his birthday. It's super cute! He gets to use it when we go to New Orleans for Easter.

A Mardi Gras Snowman

Ben had a school project in which they had to disguise a snowman. He decided to do a Mardi Gras snowman, complete with beads, a wig, a mask and fleur de lis. We made the snowman at home and they he wrote about it at school. I gave him a list of Mardi Gras words to use. He did a great job!

A View from 35,000 Feet

I had a business trip to Vegas in mid February (over Mardi Gras :(  ) but I got some cool pictures flying over New Mexico and Arizona.

The Perfect Napping Chair

The perfect napping chair in the 'relaxation room' as Nick calls it.

A Random Black Eye?

Just another day in the life of Nick...with a random black eye. He must have hit it on something at school that day, but couldn't remember what. I think it was gone the next day and he was on to the next boo boo.

Brotherly iPad Bonding

It's so cute when they get all snuggly together to watch shows on their ipad. It's also so quiet...

Sad Little Saturn

February started off a little rough. I went out to the car Monday morning, the 1st, and low and behold, my car wouldn't start. Sad. I had to get it towed to the dealership in Perrysburg where they diagnosed some not easy or straightforward issues (bank account sad). They got it fixed by Tuesday, though and it's been good since.

The Sibling Derby

The siblings of the Pack also got to do a derby race. Interestingly, out of 17 siblings participating, only 3 were boys. Nick had lot of fun and was so proud of his car (the blue one). He also had a Star Wars theme. He didn't place for speed, but he definitely won a few of his races.

The Inaugural Pinewood Derby

The Tiger scouts [dads] had their first pinewood derby at the end of January. The [dads] boys had a lot of fun and loved seeing their cars race down the track. Ben didn't place for time, but he still had a lot of good runs!

Ben's car is the first one, at the top of the picture. It says O'Ben Kanobe (it was a Star Wars theme)

Cub Scout Walleye Game

The cub scouts had a night at the Walleye game. It was the first time Nick and I had been to a game. The boys enjoyed it, except for the goal noise. Nick and I did not appreciate the fog horn they blow when the Walleye score. We sat right behind the goal, so there was some excitement. But of course, everyone loves the zamboni the most.
