African Safari

The Sunday after the 4th, we decided to do something different, so we took the boys to the African Safari drive thru zoo in Port Clinton. (We kind of ended up doing a little 'stay-cation' for the 4th) I had never been there before and it had been a long time since Adam had been. As we drove up, the boys were super excited. We bought them each a container of food and a bag of carrots to feed the animals. The first section was a lot of llamas and el pakas, cows and some deer. The boys loved it!

Why, hello there

So, what exactly do you think those horns could do to a car??

Adam made a friend. Note, we are in the truck.

A double hump kind of day...

Nick got adventurous and fed a carrot to the deer! (The only way I could take pictures of him was in the mirror)

Adam almost lost an arm feeding these two deer

I think Nick did lose his cup feeding the deer. It was slightly challenging for him to feed the animals in the high truck, but I was still ok with being higher up.

Our First Trip to the Perrysburg Pool

We finally made it to the Perrysburg pool, for the 4th of July. Between cool days, rain and other things going on, we hadn't had a chance to get to the pool. The boys had fun, even though the water was really cold! Adam and I had a hard time getting into the water because it was so cold, but the boys had no problem with it at all!

Yay, Fireworks!

Ohh, pretty fireworks! We had a great view of them this year. Perfect weather and a great fireworks show.

Fun At the Fort

Having fun at the fort while waiting for fireworks. The boys had fun exploring the fort, playing bubbles and generally running around. I had fun chasing them around, re-applying bug spray every 20 minutes.

3rd of July Sports Day and Ice Cream

Adam and I took the boys to a sports center to celebrate July 3rd. Nick wanted to play putt-putt(ish) and Ben wanted to do the batting cages. I didn't get any pictures of Ben at the batting cages because I couldn't see him from the putt putt course. After batting and putt putt we drove go carts (no pictures for safety purposes). After our fun, we got some 'lunch' at Penguin Palace.

Jurassic Park = Good Parenting, No?

I decided the boys needed to watch Jurassic Park so we could gauge if they could handle Jurassic World in the theater. Their reactions watching it the first time were pretty funny. They hid their faces a little bit and buried up in blankets a time or two, but no screaming, no crying, and as far as I know, no nightmares. Win! Jurassic World, here we come!
