We may have gone to the zoo to see the spring gardens, but it was cold and the polar bears were loving it! The two females and male were together (not sure which were which). One was sleeping in the cave while the other two were gallivanting around. The one polar bear was itchy and just couldn't seem to get the right spot! I would also like to say those paws are about the size of Nick's head.

A Little Farm Related Crafting
At the zoo Spring Fling, they had an exhibit sponsored by a farming organization. One of the stations was a soy bean necklace. You went down cotton, but the soy bean in a small plastic bag with the cotton and put it on a string around your neck. Your body heat makes the soy bean sprout. Nick loved it!
Another station was to paint with vegetables. Nick made a picture using a carrot, broccoli, potatoes and cauliflower 'paint brushes'.
And a few more spring garden pictures
A Little Bit Of Spring to Brighten The Winter
The zoo has had a garden show in late February/early March for the last few years. We couldn't go last year because we were in New Orleans. This year, Nick and I went to check it out on a cold Friday while Ben was in school. It was pretty cool! Several area garden centers and florists had created gardens depicting fairy tales. Nick like 2,000 Leagues under the Sea's submarine. I just liked all the colors and flowers and wonderful spring smell!

The Anello Hill Sledding Invitational
What better place to sled than on a hill on the river!! It was pretty warm (like 30 degrees warmer than the average for the entire month of February), so it was perfect sledding weather. Adam and the kids had lots and lots of fun. At least until they broke a sled and decided to call it a day. All the kids walked up the hill without issue, there was zero whining or complaining and everyone had a great time!
