The boys and I headed to New Orleans for Mardi Gras, and couldn't have had better timing. Toledo was nasty bitter cold (which it continued to be for the rest of the month, but at least we got a week reprieve). The sun was shining and the air was warm! The boys and I soaked it up at the park!

The First Snow Storm of February - Superbowl Sunday
The first snow storm of February was also Super Bowl Sunday. I purposely forget how much snow we got, but it was snowing at a good clip all day. The guys had to snow blow every few hours to keep up with it. The kids played outside for a long time while the mom's stood around the fire pit drinking 'mommy hot chocolate' :)
Ben got to use his snow ball gun he got for Christmas. It was a big hit with the kids! Makes a perfect snow ball every time!
Even Bella came over to play.

Just Can't Hang...
After at least 2 hours playing outside after school on a Friday night, Ben just couldn't hang. He passed out on the couch while the other three watched a movie, huddled around the iPad.

Nick's Architectural Skills
Nick has gotten really into his building blocks lately. He loves building towers and castles and garages for his cars.

Build It!
In keeping with the Lego theme of the month, we went over to Build It!, a Lego play place in Levis. The boys love going there, but we don't make it over there often enough. It was MLK Jr day, so it was PACKED but it was better to be packed there than at Hero's or Playland, where I probably would have lost my mind. The boys played for over 2 hours with lots of different things. Nick liked the zip line and making cars. Ben made planes, cars, buildings and a zip line guy. They both loved playing with the big Duplo train. I had to drag them away.

Lego Cake and Hot Chocolate
After lots of fun playing outside, the boys came in for cake and hot chocolate. Nick was allowed to participate in cake time (after he was told he didn't have an option). The Lego cake was a hit!

A Lego Birthday - Part Two!
With a better Lego cake and a Daddy snow ball fight! We are only doing big birthday parties every other year, so this year Ben got to invite 2 friends over for a play date with cake. I found silicon Lego block and Lego people molds on Amazon and tried to mimic a cake I saw online. It's more like 'inspired by' the picture on line, but Ben loved it! The Legos and people were made out of chocolate. And of course, the Lego candles.
It was a really nice winter day, so the boys played outside the entire time (YES!). Ben had strict instructions that dad was 'in charge' of the party, so I got to sit inside and relax while he played outside with them. Did I mention this was like the best birthday party ever? At least for me. Adam on the other hand took a pummeling of snow balls and 6 year old boys.

The Sandbox that Just Keeps Giving
...Just keeps giving new and creative ways to play. Like eating the snow while building a snow/sand castle.
