Officially 6 Years Old

And with that, he was officially 6 years old. I'm still not sold on the idea... He even had to do his hair for his birthday and alternate dress day at school.

A Lego Birthday - Part One

The weekend before his 6th birthday, we celebrated with the Wolny side of the family. We had a fun sleepover weekend with Eva and Elaina, birthday cake and of course presents. Ben got some great gifts, including a big hooded blanket, a checkers set, a scooter and games. He was (and still is) very excited about the checkers game and Sorry! board game.

A Lego Bomb and Eat Your Cake, too

Ben wanted a Lego theme for his 6th birthday. Shocking! So we made a Lego cake (or two). His first cake was just bricks. I made the cake and cut it to be 3 bricks, using double stacked, double stuffed, oreos as the nubs. I even let Ben help frost, but not without anxiety. I even found Lego candles! Ben was pretty excited about his first Lego cake (and turning 6)!

A Little Bit of Snow, A Little Bit of Shoveling

Working off some post-school energy with a bit of shoveling and fresh (cold) air. Monster appreciates the shoveling, especially when the snow gets to be taller than her legs.

Think It's Genetic?

This picture of the boys reminds me of the picture of Sarah and me. Pretty much the exact same expressions except the boys added fingers to the mouth.

A New Year, A New Imagination Station??

No, nothing had changed since we had been there the previous week. But it sure was crowded! Yet, the Friday of New Years week was not as busy as it had been earlier in the week, based on pictures I saw.

I was trying out my new 85mm prime lens, which was a bit tight for some of the spaces in IS. But I still got some decent shots of the dino exhibit. The boys received a 'season pass' for the dino exhibit, so we can go as many times as we want (versus paying separately). They love to push the buttons to make the dinos move. They also really like the dino dig, which is a lot of tiny rubber pieces you brush (onto the floor) with paint brushes.
