Picking Apples In The Fog

Grandma, Grandpa and Aunt Sarah came in town for a long weekend in September. I kept Ben home from school on Friday so we could go to the apple orchard. He didn't miss too much since there was a 2 hour fog delay that day. We headed up to Erie Orchard early, and the fog was still very, very thick! We started out by picking Norther Spies. The apples were high up in trees, so the boys went one row over and picked golden delicious for themselves - perfect height for them to pick. Sarah climbed a few trees to get to the best apples. The fog made for an interesting experience.

A Really Big Spider Web

There was a really big spider web on the bush next to the driveway one morning! I thought it was cool with the rain drops on it.

Ben Art

Ben art. This cracked me up! It was hanging up in his classroom when Adam and I went for kindergarten parent night at school.

We Tried To Go To A Rockets Game

We tried to go to UT Rockets game this year - we even got free tickets from someone I work with. But, the weather was not on our side. About 10 minutes into the game, the tornado sirens went off! It was actually a false alarm, but we didn't know that, and then it started to storm. The restarted the game around 11! Needless to say, we made it to the car just as the heavy rain was falling and went home to watch a movie and have ice cream.

A Festival or...The Library

After the parade, I thought the boys would want to walk around the festival a bit. It was crazy crowded - I saw that there were 10,000 people at the parade (but it was perfect weather...). But no, they wanted to go to the library and play. So, we headed over to the library to play for a bit before heading home.

Harrison Rally Day

Perrysburg's annual festival is called Harrison Rally Day. It's named after one of the guys from the War of 1812. They have a parade and pretty much every group in P'burg walks in it and tossed candy to the kids watching. St. Rose had a group in the parade this year and after himming and hawing, Ben decided he wanted to walk in the parade. Another girl from his class was there and his teacher, so he was pretty excited. Nick and I walked with him, a total of about 4 blocks, and tossed candy to the kids. It was fun. A little hectic trying to keep them both on pace while throwing candy. We stopped in front of St. Rose and watched the rest of the parade behind us. And of course, the fire trucks at the end.

A Coffee Break by the Fountain

A little 'coffee' break by the fountain at Levis Commons. If I go to Starbucks, the boys get 'coffee' or rather a milk or juice box. Ben requested I take their picture.

Cosi Fun

Ben had a Friday off school in September for a teacher in-service, so I took the boys to Imagination Station for the morning. It had been a while since we had been there last. The boys are much more into the exhibits outside of the kid space now, but still like going into the kid space. It was a nice quiet day at IS!

Talk Like A Pirate Day

Ben's school mascot is the Pirates, so for national Talk Like A Pirate day, they got to dress up like pirates! And I couldn't let Ben dress up and not Nick, so they both got into the spirit!

And thanks to Aunt Sarah and her pirate 'stache-glasses, I joined in the festivities as well!

A Fun Game of Scrabble

The boys have a fun game of scrabble that they have started to play together. Playing together doesn't last super long, but they do well for a little bit before getting angry or frustrated with the other person.
