Same story, different day. Adam out of the country, me home with the boys alone, mid week snow storm, 9 inches of snow, level 3 snow emergency and a test to my sanity. After the blizzard of the morning subsided, we went outside in the afternoon to play. Cameryn and Avery trudged over to see us and the seven foot snow piles. The kids went sledding on one of the driveway piles. Ben dug a tunnel in the pile while Nick sliced it with his small Jake sword. So, after this snow storm, our street pile was about 6-7 feet tall. Almost three weeks later, there is still 2 feet of snow in that pile. I believe it is the last surviving pile in the entire neighborhood.

Soccer Time!
It is soccer time! This time around, Nick was old enough to play on the same team as Ben. The first week Ben was very protective of his brother and wanted to make sure he understood what to do. It was kind of cute, but I felt a little bad for Nick not being able to do his own thing. So far, the first game was the only game Nick played in. Since then, he only wants to sit on the sidelines. I think he's still a little overwhelmed. We got new running shoes this week, so hopefully they will be incentive for him to play this coming weekend.
Ben is doing much better this session at the soccer. There is a little boy on our team that has experience playing soccer and he and Ben semi dominate the team. They are also the oldest and biggest kids on the team. But they run the ball, redirect and score. Ben is having a great time playing this time around. I think Nick might like it better as the season goes on or maybe next session.

He Decided It Was Time To Be A Big Boy
Nick had been working on the potty training thing for about 3-6 months, and it was a struggle because he just didn't really care. Well, we got back from New Orleans, he went to daycare one day and decided he was going to be a big boy. He asked to wear big boy undies and kept them dry/clean. The deal had been that he could sleep in a big boy bed when he started wearing big boy undies. And darn if he didn't remember that part! I wasn't quite ready for him to just not be in his crib anymore. His first night in his big bed, he made a nest of everything blanket he could find. I have since found him under pillows, buried to the point of not being able to see him and surrounded by blankets, but no blankets actually touching his skin. We are still working on the potty training - he won't go unless you tell him, which leads to the occasional accident. But he has been doing very good in his big bed. He has only gotten out of it once and goes to sleep just the same way as he did in his crib.

Spears and Playground
In addition to catching swords and pop guns and they also acquired spears. Grandma took them over to the golf course and play ground to run some energy on Monday when it got colder again.
They figured out how to slide down these rails on their arm pits.

Bacchus Parade Time
The boys actually used the ladder for the Bacchus parade. Doug's step brother ran face protection for them on the ladder. They had a good time watching the parade from the high vantage point.

Dancing In The Streets
Sunday we headed down to the parade route for Bacchus. The boys had a great time hanging out with Lizzie, Doug, Aunt Sarah, Doug, Tom and Libby. They all had fun dancing in the street and running the boys around before the parade started.

Livin' It Up In The Warm Weather
Walk around barefoot and shirtless as much as you want while you can because you will not be leaving the house without a hat, gloves, coat rated for -10°F and boots for another 2 months (if you are lucky).
He was playing with is ping pong gun Aunt Sarah gave him from the parade.
