The Children's Museum - Connecticut

Thursday we headed over to the Children's Museum in West Hartford. The Pierce's came with us to check it out and to get everyone out of the house, especially since it has snowed that night. The museum does not have the best flow - it's in a funky building. There were lots of reptiles and amphibian animals and they had a really cool Ancient Egypt exhibit that everyone enjoyed. In the basement, there was a large aerospace exhibit that Ben and Nick liked. There were three flight simulators (aka video games) that took some work to get Ben away from.

An Impressive Feat

Wednesday night, Ann and Bill's neighbors came over for a bit. Two of the three boys hung out at the house while their mom and older brother ran to the store. We got all seven kids around the breakfast bar in the kitchen! And they all sat and ate their dinner and were quiet. It was pretty impressive!

Kind of Sorta Sledding

So, these Bilibo's are just plastic injection molded parts. They can be used to sit on, stand on, be turtle shells, helmets, buckets, whatever. Adam and Ben tried them out as sleds. With some practice, I think Ben could get the hang of it.

Uncle Paul even went out to give Ben some pointers and show him how it's done. Pretty entertaining.

A Yuskales Christmas

Tuesday afternoon, the whole Yuskales clan gathered at Great Grandma's house for presents and dinner. The boys got some great gifts including blocks, truck puzzles, a chalk attachment for a bike, clothes, a cool build it truck with a drill and a bulldozer.

Eva got a pretty handmade dress from Auntie Gwen

Someone was tired

Lauren got her pretty new hat and a book on kittens

And I finally got a good picture of Eva!

Defend the Castle!

The boys spent most of Tuesday playing with the castle. It's big enough (3 feet long) that they can both play with it without getting in the other's way too much. It does all sorts of stuff like shoot canon's and has a drawbridge and talks. It and Bucky were the 'high tech' Christmas presents, while the bilibo's were the 'low tech' gifts.

Santa Came!

Tuesday morning we got up early and went to church then headed to Great Grandma's house for Christmas. Our elf, George James, had paid us a visit at Auntie Ann's house, so he knew we were in Connecticut for Christmas and could relay the message to Santa of where to deliver presents. And there they were, waiting for us at Great Grandma's house!

Ben got a castle, Bilibo, Captian America Shield and Avengers figurines

Nick got Bucky the Pirate Ship, a bilibo and a doctor's kit

The bilibo is the blue thing. It's just a thing, like a box or laundry basket. It is whatever the kids imagine it to be. More on the bilibo's to come...
