KOA Camping

We went tent camping at the KOA where Donnie is staying. It was a very nice place with lots of kid friendly stuff including a little train that the owners daughter drove around, a tractor hay ride (but with water guns), several playgrounds and a pool. It was perfect camping weather - dry and cool.

Sorry, but you can not miss that bus. I saw it the second we pulled into the campground. That is our tent to the right.

This was the fire before Adam decided it need EVEN MORE lighter fluid and almost burned off his eyebrows.

Monster was a very good girl. She was just as worn out as the boys by Sunday.

Mmmm! Yum yum yummy dinner!
Nick and marshmallows. I don't think it's the best combination.

Donnie picked up some chemical packs that turn the fire different colors. It was pretty cool!

Renaissance Festival Petting Zoo

A local farm set up a petting zoo at the Renaissance festival. It was the one thing Ben really wanted to do(other than the marshmallow catapults). He got to pet and brush a donkey, a baby piggy, a lamb and sheep and el paka. He did very good being calm and talked nicely to all the animals.

Michigan Renaissance Festival

This weekend Sarah came up to Michigan to see her boyfriend, Donnie, who is staying at a KOA while working on a project this summer. We went up Saturday and camped at the KOA. The Michigan Renaissance Festival started this weekend and is literally around the corner from the campground, so we decided to check it out! I had heard of it before but didn't really know what it was. We were really impressed and had a really good time! It is very entertaining. All Ben cared about were the pirates and swords.

The first show we saw when we walked in was the men jumping into a mud pit.

I presume it is good for the complexion...
Then we stopped to get some food. Donnie had a turkey leg, in true Renaissance fashion. But he turned from the camera.

Donnie bought a few souvenirs, including these steam conductor goggles and top hat. They were fetching on Ben.

LOTS of people dressed in costume! Some were good, some, not so good. Some, not so PG either.
Ben was a good boy for the most part, so he got a reward of his very own sword. He had to put it in his shorts to carry, just like Jake on Jake and the Neverland Pirates.

Playtime!

Friday morning we walked over to Cameryn's to play. Andrew, Matthew and Kristi also met us over there. It was a beautiful day and the kids had a great time playing outside.

Ben has found a way to legally push Cameryn. I think there were a few pushes that were a little harder than required.
A fence pow-wow with the neighbors
Nick did very well on the swings. He did not do so well on the smaller slide. He got a major boo-boo on his head. I have no idea how he did it, but the top of his head is all scraped up.

While we played outside, the babies slept by the door.

Ready to Go!

Nick was ready to go for a walk the other day! He decided to climb into the backpack all by himself.

Whack-a-Mole - on Daddy's Tummy

DIY Baby Grand

Ben's DIY baby grand piano. And a grammy worthy rendition of Twinkle Twinkle Little Star, the Ben Wolny Remix.

Brotherly Snuggling

Boy are these two going to love the title of this post someday! I was just happy they were both on the couch and there was no hitting, slapping, pushing, shoving or body slamming.

Island Hopper

Ben has mastered the island hoppers at the park. Either last year or earlier this year (I can't remember), he wouldn't do it without someone right next to him. Now he just hops on and away he goes!

Update: I went back and found it - Ben attempting to do this back in March.

Parties By Barb

This past week I organized a birthday 'bomb' for my co-worker, Lori's, 40th birthday. We do 0 birthdays up pretty big at my office. I got a Mardi Gras bomb for the 2 month anniversary of my 30th birthday (when I got back from maternity leave). Lori LOVES sweets and fruit, so I decided to go with a Sweets Shoppe theme. I made the cake, the decorations, and table-scape while everyone in my department chipped in for sweets and fruit. Lori was surprised and excited about her Sweets Shoppe. These pictures only show about half of what we had total. The cupcakes, cake pops, white chocolate fondue and strawberries are not pictured! Needless to say, the company is still working away on eating all the sweets!

I am totally in love with my tissue paper chandelier. It will be moving into my office later this week.
These little candles for the bunting were the only 40's thing I allowed. There is no over the hill stuff on my watch!
And what is a sweets shoppe without a private label bottled water?!

Photos Downtown

Sunday evening we headed downtown (Perrysburg) for some dinner and a little walk around downtown. Downtown Perrysburg has some great locations for photo ops. My children, however, just were not interested in those locations and instead wanted to play next to the driveway barrier. Oh well. You work with what you got.
