Beach Vacation '12: Lulu's - A Round of Drinks (or two)

Tuesday night we headed over to Lulu's. I love Lulu's. It's the best place to go to wait for a table.
Right after we got there, a storm started to blow in.
While we were waiting for a table and waiting out the storm, we hung out in one of the shelter-type buildings. And of course we had some cocktails. Including the boys. They were virgin drinks, of course.
Nick sucked down his strawberry daiquiri in no time
As did Ben

Beach Vacation '12: More Swimming Fun!

Tuesday was a pool/beach day. The boys had a great time swimming in the big, dolphin shaped pool. Ben learned how to swim with his froggie swimmer. He swam the whole length of the pool with Adam a few times. He also pushed Nick around the pool in his floatie.

Beach Vacation '12: Colbalt's

Monday night we went to dinner at Colbalt's, a nice, but family friendly, restaurant on the bay. They have a pond inside the waiting area. Ben really liked looking at the fish.

While we were eating, we saw the pirate ship taking a tour. Ben was totally obsessed with the pirate ship. We saw it almost every day.

This picture is actually from Friday when we went back for lunch. Be wouldn't take a picture with the frog on Monday, but on Friday he asked me to take his picture.

Beach Vacation '12: And Then Nick Discovered The Big Pool

While Ben was taking a nap one afternoon, Adam and I took Nick down to the pool. And that is when we discovered Nick has absolutely no fear of water. He had a great time jumping in, swimming in his ring, walking in the shallow area, climbing the steps, and putting his face in the water.

Beach Vacation '12: Beach Storms

We had a couple of good storms roll in during the early evenings. The cloud fronts were very ominous.

People left canopies and rafts and stuff on the beach every night. Not a good idea. There were a lot of busted-up canopies and a few rafts that were halfway to Mexico.

Lounge chairs in the pool - all we heard was this woman screaming. It was kind of funny
The whale fluke pool (that's what it is shaped like) is located between the two buildings which act like a wind tunnel. The bridge that crosses the fluke has a little waterfall/spray thing underneath. When the crazy winds kicked up, the spray was blowing all the way to the beach!
We watched all the little boats race back to shore as the storms rolled in

A little break in the clouds, followed by bright sunny skies again

Views from the condo balcony

Beach Vacation '12: Sand and Flashlights and Grandma

After flying his kite for a bit, Ben played in the sand with Grandma. They had brought flashlights down to the beach in case it got dark. Ben decided to bury his in the sand. He kept his flashlights pretty close all week.

Beach Vacation '12: Let's Go Fly A Kite!

Adam's aunt got the boys a kite when we were in Connecticut in April. It traveled very well, so I brought it along to the beach. It's some kind of fancy, spinning kite. Ben and I took it down the beach for a spin. It was kind of hard for Ben to hold because it bounces/vibrates in your hand, especially when the wind is strong.

While we were on the beach, there was a very pretty sunset/moon rise

Beach Vacation '12: Pool Rings

After splashing and goofing around for a bit in the fishy hot tub, we got out the pool rings that I had picked up for a dollar at the grocery store. Best two dollars spent on vacation! The boys loved them! Nick was even able to swim around using the ring.
