Just Along For the Ride

Last Sunday was another very nice day so we took everyone over to Sidecut for a walk. Adam carried Ben on his back while I carried Nick. (Hmmm, wonder who got the better deal there). It was a lllloooonnnggg walk - about 6 miles. Needless to say, we all took 3 hour naps that afternoon.

He is not falling out of the wrap - I was switching him from outward facing to inward so he could take a nap

Couch Domination

Nick's favorite place spot - the couch. He just walks, crawls, pushes and shoves his brother out of the way  to get to his end of the couch.

You're Just Figuring This Out?

Monster just figured out there was a fish in the aquarium. Once she made this great discovery, she kept jumping up on the counter to get a better look at it. I think she has decided it is not a threat to her domain and has resigned to ignoring it.

A Daddy Pile-Up

It was Attack of The Wolny Boys! Poor daddy. He doesn't really need his nose, anyways.

You Swim While I Take A Nap

I finally took pictures of Nick's swimming classes. It's slightly difficult when only one parent can go. Luckily I have an underwater case and a shutter timer. Nick was actually pretty active in class last week. Usually he just curls up and snuggles instead of swim. Last week he was getting more into it - splashing and kicking his feet and laughing. But when it's time to swim on his back, he totally relaxes, puts his hands on his ears and closes his eyes like he's going to fall asleep. Silly little boy.

Grocery Shopping

Have to load up the carts with oysters and fish (prepping for lent, I'm sure)

Gotta start 'em young. There's no reason you need to be able to see over the top of the cart.

Sometimes you have to dig through the fruit to find the best one.

Cameryn coming in to help

What, mom? See, I found what I was looking for.

Arts and Crafts at Imagination Station

We partook of the arts and crafts time at I.S. today. Ben asked to go into the art room where they were making sensory artwork with tissue paper, beans, and foil. It was Ben's first experience with glue. And his last for a while. Cameryn made an artwork too, then they played on the chalk boards. Nick was a bit upset that he wasn't allowed to eat the beans until he found the magnetic letter board. Then he was happy. Or at least until we left the room.

Fun at Imagination Station

Today we had some fun at Imagination Station. Cameryn and Tiffany met us there and the kids had a great time. We were there for about 2 hours and the kids would have stayed much longer, had we let them!

Just. Give. Me. The. Bottle!!

"Mommy, I just want my bottle! Please, give me my bottle! Please, mommy, please!"

Do I have to get out my alligator tears, mommy? Just go make my bottle!

Ugh, sweet relief...I love my bottle

Here Fishy Fishy Fishy

This weekend Adam set up a new fish tank. It was Adam's aquarium as a kid and it has become Ben's new obsession. Adam and Ben went to the pet store last weekend to buy supplies, including a pirate ship that bubbles frequently. Ben is also obsessed with Jake and the Neverland Pirates, a Disney Channel cartoon featuring Captain Hook. Jack and his [good] pirate friends have a boat named Bucky. So what do you think our fishy pirate boat is named? You got it - Bucky.
After letting the tank settle or clean out or whatever it needs to do, we went back to the pet store for fish. Ben wanted all sorts of fish, but we ended up with the last Neon they had and a black googly-eyed gold fish. Ben was super excited about the fish! This evening he named the fish. Don't ask me where he comes up with these names...One is Uncle and the other is AQ. I have no idea...And I'm not sure which one is Uncle and which is AQ. But here are pictures of a wonderful fish, Uncle and AQ.

Oohh, Pretty

I made this cake this weekend for a co-workers 40th birthday. I saw the idea for the outside on a blog called Sprinkle Bakes and the inside on a blog called Raspberri Cupcakes, both of which I came across on Pinterest. The outside is covered in Sixlets and sprinkles on top. The inside is 5 layers of purple ombre cake. It was pretty tasty, too!
