Nick's Baptism

Nick: The Rock Star of Noon Mass. Nick was baptized this Sunday at noon mass at St Rose. They normally don't do baptisms during mass, but at a special ceremony after noon mass. But they didn't have one scheduled for this past weekend, so we ended up doing it during mass. The priest, Fr. Schetter, was just ordained last month, so this was probably his first baptism as a priest - he seemed pretty excited about it. And Nick, well he was just eat'n it up! He was a little ham ball for the first half of mass and took a little snooze for the second half. After the official baptism, the priest took Nick to the alter and did a little Lion King, presenting him to the congregation. It was pretty cute.
Nick in his little John-John bubble outfit! I love it!!

 With his godmother, Auntie Dre

A little leery of the water, but still didn't make a peep

Ben got to help blow out the Easter candle after church. And Ben was a very good boy during church. It's amazing what a little threat of no party if you are a bad boy does to a two and a half year old.

Hair? What Hair?

I couldn't stand Ben's hair and it was making him all hot and sweaty, so Adam and I took the matter into our own hands and buzzed Ben's hair! It didn't turn out too bad, especially considering it was getting pretty dark outside when we finished up. It was the first time in probably a year that Ben didn't freak out about getting his hair cut. I think it was because he was outside and we had a fan on so the hair didn't get in his eyes (can't say the same for myself, though). Grandma took these pictures and they totally crack me up!!

The Trains at Greenfield Village

Nick was a very good boy at GV. He just kind of hung out in the stroller, enjoying being outside. He is the same age Ben was the first time he went to GV!
We spent a lot of the day looking at and riding the trains. Ben really, really liked the all the trains!
The roundhouse - just like in Thomas!
Turning the wheel to show how the train makes steam to make it go!

Waiting for the train to pull into the station
Note the train stamp on his face - a transfer from my hand
 Yay for train rides!

And two cool bikes!

The Animals at Greenfield Village

Friday we went to Greenfield Village at the Henry Ford Museum with Grandma, Grandpa, aunt Sarah and Donnie. Adam was at a supplier in MI that was only 20 minutes away so he was able to join up with us after his meeting, around 1. Ben loved all the animals at the Village. He fed the ducks, saw sheep, pigs, horses, cows, turkeys, and chickens. He really liked feeding the ducks, though!

A Penny Fountain

We went to dinner at Levis Commons on Thursday and afterward Ben checked out the fountain with Aunt Sarah. He really enjoyed throwing pennies into the fountain.

Happy Birthday, Andrew!

Today we helped Andrew celebrate his 2nd birthday! Andrew is hooked up on the outside toys! The boys played together on the new swingset and then Ben 'broke in' Andrew's new Powerwheels.

And Nick just hung out, took a little snooze and tried to swipe some frosting from my piece of cake.

Jumpy Jumpy

Our neighbor has a little boy (named Ben) who is 6 months older than Nick. Little Ben has outgrown his jumpy, so it was passed on to us. Nick has just started playing in it and seems to enjoy it. It's pretty fun and colorful!

When It's Hot Outside

When the temperatures reach 100, it's time to go swimming! It was Nick's first time in the pool and he seemed to really like it. It was difficult to get a good picture of him while also trying to hold him, though.
