The Boys Playing

Some video of the boys playing today. It's amazing what a four hour nap can do to improve the moods of two little boys (and their mommy)

No Pictures, Please

I guess 2.5 years of having a camera in his face have caught up to me.

Open Mouth, Insert Toy

Nick has just started to really grab toys and put them in his mouth. It's a nice break for his hands, arms, feet and legs which he has been chewing on non-stop for the last 3 days.

Steam Threshers

Today the boys and I went to a steam threshers demonstration and show. A girl that I work with that is now in our European office is involved with the group - in fact I think her grandfather started it. She came all the way back from Switzerland just for this! The demonstration was just a few miles from the house. Kristi and Andrew met up with us. The boys really liked the steam tractors, but they kept calling them choo choos and Thomas and Percy. But, it's pretty understandable why they would think that, seeing as they are pretty much the same thing as a steam locomotive, just with traction wheels versus train wheels. They even had the same whistles. The steam threshers were pretty sweet. They also had grain sorting machines, a few saw mills, a pop corn popper and some others that I'm not quite sure what they did. It was like a mini Greenfield Village. Who knew such things existed!

Ben calls this one Percy because it's green

It was really, really hot, so the boys had to keep hydrated

Dirtball

That's all he is anymore - a dirtball.

Alligator Hat

Grandma Lee got Ben this alligator hat when they went to Florida in February. Ben just rediscovered the hat yesterday. First he wore it for a bit, then Nick wore it.

Cleaning the Yard

Cameryn and Tiffany were out of a bike ride yesterday and stopped over. Ben and Cameryn must have really been missing each other these last two weeks, because they played together really well! I don't think they had one argument. They even took turns pushing each other around on the tricycle. Oh, but how it will change by 10am Monday morning...

Now I Get It!

Oh yes, now Nick understands cereal, and has decided that he really, really likes it!

Tickles or Belly Button Lint??

I'm not really sure what Ben was trying to do here. I think he was going for tickles, but it looked more like trying to pick Nick's belly button lint. That or the Pillsbury dough boy belly poke, I guess.

To Make Up

For my complete lack of Nick pictures at the wedding, I took these the next morning before we left the hotel

Auntie Dre and Uncle Kevin's Wedding

The Big Day was this past Saturday. It was a beautiful day for a beautiful wedding!

Ben before the ceremony. I was a bad mommy and only got a couple pictures of Ben and none - yes none - of Nick. But the professional photographer did take a few of the boys.

Pre-Wedding Fun

The Friday before Auntie Dre and Uncle Kevin's wedding, we went to their house to see the family in from Connecticut. On the way there Ben played with his stickers. Note the sticker on the nose

Nick Goes Swimming

Nick's first foray into swimming. The pool had sat in the sun all day, so the water was pretty warm. The water was also green since most of the green bubbles ended up in the pool yesterday (but that's a whole other story). Nick sat in his little floatie for about 2 minutes. He didn't really know what to think. I think he was most disturbed by the instant wet diaper.

Nick Plays Outside, Too

Nick got to play outside this weekend, too. He got to hang out in the exersaucer in the shade while Ben ran around the yard

Fireworks!

We went over to Ft Meigs to watch the fireworks on Sunday. Adam and I had a very good strategy - he drove the car down to the Fort loaded with a cooler and chairs then rode his bike back around 4 then we walked down around 7. We had primo parking for a quick get away.

Cameryn, Tiffany and Kevin met us as did Shari and her family. I made decorations for the stroller and some pinwheels for the kids (which took some engineering to figure out how to make functional)

I also had glow bracelets and light necklaces for the kids

Nick was the most patriot of our family, sporting a red white and blue shirt Grandma got him

Ben curled up with Adam to watch the fireworks. Adam was not allowed to talk during the show. Ben told him, 'No talking, Daddy'
Nick sat with me and watched the fireworks. He seemed to really enjoy them, too. He didn't fuss or fidget once during the show

And we were all home by 11!
