Time Flies!

As Ben would say, Nick is shockingly 1 month old already! His official weigh in today was 9lb 4oz and 22.25 inches long. He is 50% for weight and 75% for height. I don't think Ben weighed 9lb until he was 2 or 3 months old! That is the difference a good eater makes. Nick got a clean bill of health. The jaundice is gone however he does have some baby acne now. Luckily for Nick, mommy has photoshop and cleaned that up for him in these pictures :) He already has a lot of head control and has started to roll from side to side. Yesterday he turned himself 90 degrees while playing in his gym (going from head facing west to head facing south). That was a little surprising. He's also starting to interact with his toys. He is swinging and swatting at his toys in his gym and cooing and talking to his toys.

Paka Rosie

We went to the mall yesterday and because Ben was a good boy, he got to ride the 'Thomas' (all trains are Thomas except for Percy who is Percy). But then he decided to ride the dog instead... The real highlight for Ben, though, was the music. His favorite song is Ring Around the Rosie, which he calls Paka Rosie. He and the kids at daycare sing it all day long while twirling around and falling down on top of each other. We had to watch this video probably 20 times in a row this morning just for the music.

First Date

This picture is totally making an appearance the first time Ben brings a date home!!

He's actually quite good at walking in 2" heels.

Fun at the Park

This past weekend Grandma Lee came up to spend some time with the boys. We went to the park to get some of Ben's energy out. We think he may have run about 2 miles in 20 minutes. He was all over the place. These are the very few times he was actually still.

Is It Spring Yet??

The weather is finally starting to improve, so we got to play outside today.

Ben barely fits in his dolphin swing anymore. We had to take off his boots to get his giant feet into the swing.

Nick wasn't too impressed. I think he has a tummy ache today and he has a sore bum. It's a rough life, being almost 3 weeks old.

It is difficult to read the paper outside on a windy day.

Brothers

Ben asked to hold Nick today and did a pretty good job doing it. Nick wasn't so sure about it at first, but he survived.

Explaining Thomas and Friends to Nick

I love this one

Goofy

Ben has decided to downgrade his crib. He's a goofball

2 Weeks Old!

Nick hit 2 weeks old and started to lose the old man scrunchy face and the oompa loompa jaundice glow and is starting to look like a little mini-Adam. And with the advancement in age and getting rid of the jaundice, he is awake more during the day. He's doing pretty good at sleeping at night. Our best so far was last Thursday when he slept from 11 to 6. For the most part, he is sleeping from 10 or 11 to 4ish and then 4:30 to 8ish. Now if only Ben would be so kind as to not wake up at 6:45 every morning, I'd be doing wonderfully!

Fun at the Library

Today's field trip was to the Perrysburg Library. It's been a little while since we were there and they have added some fun new things, or I just didn't notice them before. They have a really nice Thomas table, which Ben loved! They also have a little kitchen, puzzles, a firetruck and fire house, a barn and a puppet theater and of course books. We were able to leave the library without any melt downs because Ben got to take home 2 Thomas books and 2 Thomas movies which we promptly read and watched when we got home.

So Precious!

The Fishies are Still Sleeping

Now that the weather is starting to improve, we have been resuming our walks to the pond. But the fishies are still sleeping so Ben can't feed them yet.

Nick wasn't too impressed. He was just along for the ride and a nice nap.

Our First Field Trip

Our first field trip with Nick was to Imagination Station. Cameryn and Andrew were also there, but Ben was so busy running all over the place that we didn't get to see them much. Nick didn't get any pictures taken because he was in the Bjorn asleep the whole time. Overall, the trip was a success! I think our next adventure will be to the library this weekend or early next week. And if we get really adventurous, maybe Playland next Friday!!

The ambulance - for once Ben did not get in a fight over the steering wheel

The infamous fish - I don't know what it is, but he loves these fish

And then he had to line them up just so, in a straight line, evenly spaced apart...

And then roll them down the conveyor belt

The Sum of Two Engineers

What happens when two engineers get married and have kids? Little mini-engineers. Ben sometimes gets in a mood where things have to be just so. Here he is only using the alphabet blocks and they all have to be placed in the same orientation and lined up in a very straight line. Other things that have to be lined up and in a particular order include his Thomas choo choo trains, legos, his zoo animals and crayons. Though, he has not quite mastered the Roy G Biv order of crayons yet (but he and I are working on that!)
