Goofing Around

Ben playing around the house the other night. His favorite toy, his Tucks plunger, has many uses. Here it is a spy glass and horn. Normally it is also used as a ball catch game, a sword and a weapon against Monster. Thus it gets taken away from him a lot.

Swimming Like a Fishy

It's time for another fun filled swim class session! This time, our class if full of friends, including Cameryn and Lily! In yesterday's class Ben was again doing things his way. Sometimes he would jump off the wall before everyone else, other times he wouldn't jump in at all and other times he wouldn't get out of the water to sit on the wall. But it's very safe to say he is more than comfortable in the water.

Color Explosion Glow Dome

Great Grandma Yuskales got Ben a Color Explosion Glow Dome for Christmas. I had it still sitting in the box in Ben's room when he saw it yesterday and decided he really wanted to play with it. So, since I was doing work at the table, I decided to let him play with it. He loved coloring on the dome and the plastic plate. Then I took him into the bathroom to show him how it lights up. That was pretty cool, but when it started spinning, well that was thee most awesome thing ever to Ben! Thankfully, it has a wonderfully hidden on/off switch that Ben hasn't discovered yet, so the spinning can be kept to a minimum.

I Think They Lost Their Way

Totally random - we were at Best Buy the other day and there was this HUGE flock of ducks in the parking lot! They were just walking around and then would lie down. These pictures don't even show half of the ducks that were in the parking lot. Several cars almost hit them and a few were stuck in their spots, waiting for the ducks to move. Things like this are the reason I always have a camera on me!

A Wolny Christmas/New Year's

Our last Christmas celebration was actually celebrated on New Year's Day at Adam's parents. Ben got a new train table, a Leap Frog Tag Junior (which he just somehow knew how to use and knew exactly which books to use it with...), a fishing pole set and a new big wheel! He's still a little on the small side for the big wheel, but that isn't stopping him! We put it in the basement play room for him and he loves scooting around the basement on it. And of course, he had to put on the matching sunglasses for us!

A Rough Day at Playland

We went to Playland with Andrew and Cameryn today, but it was a rough day at Playland...It was PACKED with it being the last day of winter break and both Ben and I left with boo boos. I tripped over a dumb parent's shoes while carrying Ben and cracked my knee. Then 5 minutes later, Ben was playing on a swingset and bolted away from me and right into a swing which resulted in a major goose egg on his forehead. A new addition to Playland, though, is the Step 2 rollercoaster car thing. Ben LOVED it. But unfortunately so did a lot of other kids, which resulted in a lot of crying and unwillingness to share. I think the next time we go, when all the big kids are in school, will be much better, though!

Or I Guess You Could Do It That Way...

Imagination Station

Adam won a membership to Imagination Station from work, and I think it is going to come in very handy this coming year! They have a great area for little ones, though Ben didn't care too much for anything but the ambulance and the water stuff. Note to self, next time short sleeves and maybe a rain jacket.

Ben was really good at assembling the walls of the house. He fit the slates right onto the pegs with no problem.

And then he knocked down this huge tower. He is all about the destruction these days.

Sight-Seeing in Connecticut

On Tuesday we went for drive through the Connecticut country-side. The northwestern part of the state is a lot of mountains, woods, and really old houses. We stopped at two covered bridges, a waterfall and a sculpture artist's. We just happened across the sculpture garden. The artist had all these large animals and dancers and other things in the yard. He let us walk around and it was really nice because he had even plowed paths around the garden, which was needed since the blizzard had dumped about 15-1

Me and My Mommy

Ben decided he wanted to do a little photo shoot with mommy the other day. He was really into taking pictures, which was a little surprising.

Here Fishy Fishy Fishy

Last Sunday we went for a drive up to the infamous river in Connecticut where Adam and the boys going fishing every(ish) year. Ben got to see the fish hatchery where they raise all the trout that are released into the river. It was the beginning of the NE blizzard, so it was starting to get cold and windy. But Ben was determined to see the fish!
