A Little Water Fun in the Backyard

We had a little water fun in the backyard today. Aunt Sarah got Ben a beach ball sprinkler for his birthday and today was really the first warm day he could use it. He wasn't so fond of the sprinkler part - the water was a little cold. But later he liked playing with just the ball and in his duckie pool and with the hose. He eventually ended up all wet, one way or another.

Ugh, gotta stretch out the gianomous belly. Gotta get loosened up...

Gotta line up the club here - it's kinda long and with my FAT belly, makes things a little difficult...I'll just follow daddy's lead on this one...

Well, maybe this big hole (from the falling of the big ash tree) is more fun...

I can always work more on my golf game tomorrow...

Nature's Neighborhood

Ben loves Nature's Neighborhood at the zoo. He gets all excited and starts running around like a crazy. He yells at the top of his lungs at the crazy loud birds (even yelling, he still isn't that loud compared to the birds). This time he was very intrigued by the leaf ants and the sandbox building area, including the bamboo poles. He also went in the stream again (and did not get too wet this time) but had to get out when he started throwing stones...

Baby Polar Bear!

Yesterday we went to the zoo with Auntie Dre and Uncle Kevin. And we got to see the new baby polar bear, Siku! Siku is about 4 months out and the darn cutest thing you ever did see! He was extremely playful and very photogenic. Because he just went on public display, we had to wait in line a few minutes and didn't get to spend too much time watching him. Ben LOVED him though! Andrea and Adam were holding him at first but then he wiggled down and bee-lined for the glass where he got all excited and pointing and talking very loudly. He was a little sad/mad when we had to leave Siku. But we'll probably go back soon and see him again.

Slide

I finally found a slide at Once Upon a Child yesterday! It's a very nice, sturdy slide, which is good since Ben refuses to use it properly.

Happy Birthday, Cameryn!

Today was Cameryn's first birthday and her birthday party! It was Ben's first birthday party (other than his own) and he had a lot of fun. There were several other kids around his age to play with, and of course all of Cameryn's fun toys. Ben wasn't too bad about 'helping' Cameryn open presents - but he did really like her lawn mower and pop roller thingy. Cameryn had a monkey cake and cupcakes. And while Cameryn ate her cupcake all nice and neat and made no mess at all - Ben was the exact opposite. I didn't get a picture of how clean Cameryn was after her cupcake because I myself, was covered in chocolate frosting :)

And here a little taste of what Ben and Cameryn probably do all day at daycare. What I didn't get on video was just before this when Cameryn chased Ben around the horsey trying to get her cup back because Ben was not being nice and stole it. They got a little scrappy over the cup!

Somersault!

Ben did a somersault all by himself today! I didn't catch the first time he did it on video, but it was definitely his best. The first time he did one, he did it perfect - rolling straight forward and doing a full turn. As he kept doing them, he started to go to the side, but that's ok. He also learned how to breakdance yesterday, but I haven't gotten that on video yet. He just randomly started doing it at Sharon's yesterday afternoon. He lies on his back and uses his foot to twirl around.

Playland!

Well, it was a rainy, yucky morning and in order to prevent the trouble we had last weekend when it rained, we decided to check out Sylvania Playland. It is a large indoor playground with bouncy stuff and several swing sets and a toddler area. Ben had a blast! He played with the other kids in the toddler area, moved around the foam shapes, climbed all over things, played in a little play house, went down the big slides with help from daddy and bounced in the baby bounce house. Definitely a place to go on rainy days!

More Playland

Stroll'n with Strollers

Ben and I went to the zoo with Tiff & Cameryn and Kristi & Andrew. We originally were supposed to do a Zoo walk, Stroll'n with Strollers, but they cancelled it, so we did our own stroll! The kids really enjoyed seeing the animals and they loved Nature's Backyard. Ben must have run back and forth in the big room 5 times. And of course the river to play in. Ben wound up pant-less because he fell in the water.
